The Bayeux Tapestry

The Bayeux Tapestry is in Normandy, but a museum in Reading, England, has a copy available for viewing via the web. Students can make their own tapestry or study the historical content of specific scenes.

Mostly Medieval: Exploring the Middle Ages - Excellent medieval resource divided into seven thematic areas, includies ballads, beasties, heraldry and medicine.

Medieval Maps - Migrations to Empires.

Primary Sources Medieval France - This site is an excellent resource for primary documents on Charlemagne and for accounts of the Hundred Years' War.

Renaissance and Reformation:

Religion and Ethics - The site contains a number of general interest sections that provide rich discussion of various world religions and a number ofsubjects in the field of ethics, such as the ethics of war, euthanasia, human cloning, and genetic engineering. Visitors can also listen to broadcasts of the BBC's many programs devoted to exploring various religions, such as Missionaries, which looks at the legacy of missionary work around the world.

Exploring Leonardo - This is a wonderful site for teachers and students as it offers some great information, many visuals on da Vinci's art and inventions and interactive activities.

Learning about Leonardo - Information and pictures of the inventor's workshop, his perspective, pictures and additional resources.
