Each year, LATA is pleased to offer a $500 scholarship to a deserving individual wishing to further his/her education in the area of learning assistance or special education.

First priority will be given to members of LATA, including currently practicing learning assistance teachers, classroom teachers preparing for integration and inclusion, and graduate or undergraduate students preparing to enter the learning assistance field. Applicants must be BC residents.

Preference will be given to those applicants taking special education courses for credit, then summer learning assistance courses or special education institutes or workshops.

Demonstrated financial need will also be a consideration.

Deadline to apply for the 2012-2013 scholarship is April 30, 2012.
