SFU and OpenMedia History: Internet Classroom Workshop

The School of Communication at SFU and OpenMedia.ca have collaborated to develop a high school workshop on the history and significance of the Internet, and how it can be utilized as a resource for fostering a healthy democracy.  This workshop is being offered free of charge.

Workshops are being delivered by either Tyler Morgenstern, the current Communications outreach assistant at SFU, or one of our OpenMedia.ca interns, Sophie Daviau Dempsey, Sasha Langford, and Jillian Wong.

We are currently taking requests from Lower Mainland teachers for this workshop and are able to start visiting classrooms beginning as early as March 8, 2010. This workshop may serve as strong complement to a number of different curricula.

For our workshop we do require an LCD projector, a screen to project on, speakers, and if possible, an Internet connection. Interested teachers should provide us with a brief response indicating primary contact information and when you would like to schedule a workshop.

For more information, contact Steve Anderson, Executive Director, OpenMedia.ca at 604-837-5730.
