Inclusion: Making Education Work For All Students The Special Education Association of BC would like to present our position paper on the topic of inclusion and its importance to class composition issues. This paper was written over the course of the 2005-2006 school year, amidst many discussions and debates in our province on how to provide appropriate educational support for all students.

• The Challenge of Specialist Support Teachers in multiple roles: Learning Assistance, ESL, and Special Education – A PSA / BCTF Research discussion paper (March 2004) A joint discussion paper on the changing role of the Special Education teacher. Completed in March, 2004, this discussion paper has been produced by BCTF Research with input from the Special Education, Learning Assistance, and ESL provincial specialist associations. The paper seeks to explore the issue of specialist support teachers working in multiple roles, often in resource-team models.
  
• Roles Responsibilities And Competencies of the Special Education Support Teacher This paper was reviewed by Special Education teachers over the 2002/03 school year and the revised copy is soon to be posted here.
  
• Promoting Safer Schools: An Introduction to Effective Behaviour Support (Permission has been granted from BCCASE to download any or all of the booklet presented here.)
• Roles and Responsibilities of Teachers and Teacher Assistants As of April, 2001 we have a position paper outlining Teacher and TA roles. This valuable resource was developed as a joint venture between the BCTF (with input from SEA) and CUPE. Our link will take you to a copy of this paper, posted on the BCTF website.
