BCPSEA Objectives Presented The BCTF negotiating team met with BCPSEA for a third day of provincial bargaining. BCPSEA responded to our plan for local and provincial negotiations and presented their bargaining objectives.
BCPSEA presented a "themes" approach, similar to the approach that the Federation presented. Their themes are the Collective Bargaining Relationship, Salary and Economic Benefits, Working Conditions, Professional Rights, and Leaves of Absences. BCPSEA presented their interest in discussing an increase for teachers which is competitive and attractive.
The tone of the session was positive. Many of the issues to be discussed are the same, although the teams agreed that we would have different perspectives on them.
Discussions regarding our plan for local bargaining will continue.
