Representing teachers at the government’s Teachers’ Congress

On November 30, the government will be holding a Teachers’ Congress.
The Ministry of Education has invited teachers from public, independent and band schools, and student teachers to submit their names for possible selection as participants in this congress. If you are interested in applying to attend, please contact your local office to submit your name for endorsation. If you are selected to speak to government in this venue, you’ll be representing the concerns and perspectives of all teachers.

Education Minister Shirley Bond has stated that the congress will focus on student achievement. Teachers understand the critical connection between student success and providing the conditions, time, and resources to support teaching and learning. There is no doubt that members who attend, as spokespersons for teachers in their local, will have a wealth of issues to discuss with Minister Bond, and any other government representatives who will be in attendance.
