February 27 is Wear Pink day—a day to take a stand against bullying. It all started with a couple of young students in Nova Scotia. One of their classmates was bullied because he wore pink to school. To show support they wore pink the next day and their action quickly spread across the province and the country.
Vancouver radio station CKNW has launched its “Bullying Stops Here” campaign and has asked everyone to wear pink on Wednesday, February 27. Encourage your students, friends, and neighbours to do the same! It’s a great way to make a mass declaration that bullying will not be tolerated.
Both the BCTF and CUPE have endorsed the campaign.
