Systemic review of racism – expression of interest

Thank you for taking the time to express your interest in participating in the dialogue sessions on systemic racism. Your participation helps the Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Office (ARAOO) gain an in-depth understanding of gaps, barriers, and opportunities to dismantle systemic racism, and reimagine ways to achieve racial justice. Your participation in these dialogues will be used to inform:

  1. The self-assessment questionnaire that will be distributed to all members.
  2. The final “pathways and actions” document produced at the end of the systemic review.

The information gathered from the expression of interest form below will be used to organize and plan the dialogue sessions. Expenses related to the dialogue sessions will be reimbursed by the BCTF. We encourage you to register as soon as possible. The last day to submit an expression of interest will be on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.

SECTION 1: Membership details

SECTION 2: Participation

There will be eight full-day dialogues scheduled on select Fridays from February to April 2023. Currently, the plan is for four dialogues held in-person and four virtual ones, however this may be adapted depending on volume of response. To ensure space for conversation, each dialogue session will include up to 15 members.

Staff will confirm dates and registration with you prior to the session and attempt to meet the desired choices expressed where possible.

Please provide your preference for the format of the dialogue session you would like to attend.

To support the diverse needs of members to have direct and open conversation about systemic racism, there may be sessions for all members, as well as sessions specifically for members who identify as Aboriginal or Indigenous, Black, and/or as people of colour. Staff leading the dialogue sessions would like to learn more about your preferences in the textbox below.

For any further information or enquiries please contact staff at antiracism@bctf.ca.
