BC

  • B.C. Learning Connection supplies recommended educational video resources licenced for British Columbia schools.
  • CLN Community Learning Network includes over 5,800 annotated links to educational sites with free curriculum resources.
  • The Educators’ Resource Centre (ERC) is an online service focused on building a community of collaboration among BC's K-12 teachers. Members of the service have online access to search, download from and contribute to a collection of learning and Pro-D resources.
  • Fast Forward Educational Media Showcase allows media buyers to view, evaluate and discuss the best in video and DVD suitable for use in education, training and libraries.
  • Learn Forestry offers many free resources such as lesson plans, teaching kits, an online newsletter and presentations.
  • Mineral Resources Education Program of BC was created to develop suitable resources for teaching about minerals, mining and the geosciences. It is teacher driven and offers workshops, fieldtrip descriptions and subsidy applications, and a large number of free resources for teachers and students.
  • Shopteacher.org has free woodworking and project plans of interest to industrial education/technology teachers and students.
  • Working Lives is an integrated, cross-curricular, multi-level resource package with materials focusing on the economic history of B.C. during the province’s first 100 years of growth and development. The BCTF contributed to the project.

Canadian

American

  • AOL@School offers online learning portals for educators and students. The educators section includes a database of lesson plans.
  • A TO Z Teacher Stuff is a teacher-created site that includes lesson plans, thematic units, discussion forums, downloadable teaching materials & eBooks, worksheets and blacklines, emergent reader books, and more.
  • Blue Web'n is an online library of Internet sites categorized by subject, grade level, and format (lessons, activities, projects, references and tools).
  • The Educator's Reference Desk provides access to over 2,000 lesson plans, 3,000 links to online education information, and question archive responses.
  • Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators is a categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. It is updated often to include the best sites for teaching and learning.
  • Pics4Learning provides copyright friendly images for use by students and teachers in an educational setting.
  • Sites for Teachers offers hundreds of links to teacher resources and educational sites ranked by popularity.
  • TeacherPlanet features lesson plans, theme units, worksheets and other teacher tools.
  • Works4Me (National Education Association) includes hundreds of classroom tips including lesson ideas and teaching techniques.

International

  • Education World offers an abundance of free resources including lesson plans, information on technology integration, professional development, and school issues.
  • Google for Educators is a "platform of teaching resources - for everything from blogging and collaborative writing to geographical search tools and 3D modeling software." Also includes lesson ideas and a Teachers' Newsletter.
  • TeacherTube.com provides an online community for sharing instructional videos. Teachers can post videos for teacher professional development or to help students learn new skills.
