2013 Challenge & Change Conference
With the 2012 conference (our Silver Anniversary!) just behind us, work is already under way planning for our 26th. Remember that 2013 will be the first year that we move the date from January to February in order to have one of the days fall on a Professional Development day and cut the costs of attending for many of our members. Mark your calendars for February 14 & 15th 2013, once more at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre. Stay tuned for keynote details as they get settled.
AGM Elections
At the AGM on Friday, January 20, 2012, elections were held to fill two vacant positions: Secretary-Treasurer and Newsletter Editor. Congratulations to Liz Louwersheimer who is our new Secretary-Treasurer, and Audrey Pfitzenmaier, our new Newsletter Editor. Each will serve a two year term.
Appointments
At the Saturday Executive Meeting following the conference, the following appointments were made:
- Speaker Co-ordinator: Karen Gadowsky, Delta
- Conference Co-ordinator: DJ Pauls, Abbotsford
- Conference Registrar: JD Duncan, Castlegar
- Publications Manager: Mike Shaw, Penticton
2012 Conference
When the dust settled on Friday, conference registration was sitting just shy of 500 attendees, who by all accounts had a wonderful time once more. We are working hard behind the scenes to get Gabor Maté back soon!
