SERVICE AWARDS - PE-BC
THE GEORGE LONGSTAFF AWARD FOR THE INNOVATIVE PHYSICAL EDUCATOR
Below are the PE-BC annual awards. If you know of any deserving teachers or groups, please fill out the downloadable application package and send the following information by May 31st to the PEBC President. Your name, home telephone numbers, home address, and school telephone number. . Please include the reason for your nomination (including a description of the activity, project, and service of the nominee).

provision of an enjoyable, nuturing environment in which all learners develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes that enhance active living

establishment of a balanced, quality, physical education program reflecting a variety of teaching methodologies, innovative learning experiences and reflective practice


professional dedication, willing to share their expertise and experience by providing leadership at the school, district and provincial levels
commitment to personal professional growth and development

The recipient will be chosen by a committee, including the President and Past President of the PE-BC in conjunction with George Longstaff.

Please submit nominations, including documentation and letters of support by September 30th to the PE-BC President.


YOUNG PROFESSIONAL AWARD

The nominee must be a member of PHE Canada or the Provincial Liaison Group (PE-BC)


Candidates should normally be 35 years of age or less, although consideration will be given to professionals who are in the early stages of late entry careers or who have had their careers interrupted.
Candidates will be evaluated on their contribution to the profession.

The final choice as to the recipient of the Young Professional Award is the responsibility of the PHE Canada Provincial Representative on the Executive Council.

Only one award will be presented in each province.


PE PROVINCIAL SPECIALISTS' ASSOCIATION-BC SERVICE AWARDS
Up to three service awards will be presented each year at the PE-BC Annual General Meeting to individuals, small groups, or LSA groups, or LSA Chapters for outstanding service to the Association. Nominees must be members of the PE-BC and LSA Chapters and must be officially recognized by the PSA to receive a service award.
