| Stuart Poyntz’ research interests include children and the media, theories of the public sphere, and young people’s historical thinking, particularly in relation to digital media technologies. He has an extensive background in the history of media literacy, nationally and internationally, and has written on Canadian cinema and on the relationship between film and historical representation. He has published in the Canadian Journal of Education, the Journal of Curriculum Theorizing, and Taboo: The Journal of Culture and Education, and is currently completing a new book, Media Literacy: A Critical Introduction. He has worked with the education community in BC for more than a decade and completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy at UBC. |
