NOTE: The following is an excerpt taken from a message received from Mr Jim Johnston, Veterans Affairs Canada.
My name is Jim Johnston and I am a Senior Education Officer with the Canada Remembers (CR) Division, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), in Charlottetown, PEI. The directorate I work in is called "CR Web Content and Learning" and I am in the Learning Initiatives area. Our office develops and produces "free" English and French and/or bilingual learning resources, learning materials, learning activities and learning projects on Canada's military history, with a focus on the importance of remembrance. These products are produced to assist Canadian educators in teaching our country's youth about the sacrifices and achievements of the Canadian men and women who have served our country in times of war, military conflict and peace support efforts. Please feel free to browse our Web site at:
http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/youth/
The backbone of our learning resources are three multi media foundation kits:
1. "Sacrifice, Achievement, Legacy, Canadians and The Second World War 1939-1945"
2. "Canada and The Great War 1914-1918 A Nation Born"
3. "Canada Remembers The Korean War 1950-1953"
