Welcome to the Teacher Inquirer
Welcome to the new Teacher Inquirer, a place for teachers and others to access Inquiry reports and to share their approaches to Inquiry with others.
In launching this e-journal, the BCTF aims to offer a publishing venue for BC’s public school teachers who have participated in and wish to report on some form of teacher inquiry. Because this is a trial year, we welcome feedback and suggestions on what should be included, so that the Teacher Inquirer can be evaluated and, if necessary, adapted, at the end of the school year.
This e-journal involves a collaboration involving two BCTF divisions – Research & Technology (R & T), and the Professional & Social Issues Division (PSID). BCTF staff members Charlie Naylor in R & T, and Nancy Hinds in PSID, will edit the Teacher Inquirer. The BCTF warmly welcomes two Associate Editors for our trial year: Dr. Willow Brown, from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) in Prince George; and Dr. Catherine McGregor, from the University of Victoria (UVic). Two teachers, Nancy Carl (Coquitlam) and Leanne Buteau (Vancouver), will join an expanded editorial board.
In each issue, we hope to:
- include at least one teacher inquiry/action research project;
- link to other inquiry/action research sites;
- include articles/synopses of current interest;
- have a Methods and Approaches section with ideas on how to undertake Inquiry;
- host a Discussion Group – you are welcome to join and participate.
To contribute to this e-journal, or just to share your thoughts on how to make this web page useful to you and other teachers, please contact Charlie Naylor in BCTF Research, or Nancy Hinds in PSID.
