Lesson activities to accompany the vignette "Where the Fraser River Flows” from the acclaimed Knowledge Network series; Working People: A History of Labour in British Columbia produced by Landrock Entertainment. The vignette explores the issues and tensions behind the Fraser River strike of 1912 during the construction of the Great Northern Railroad. The lesson materials focus on strategies used by the workers to gain better working conditions and wages by uniting labour across ethnic divisions of the time. The use of workers’ songs is profiled in this lesson.
