BCTF Conference for New Teachers, New TTOCs, and Student Teachers / Conférence de la FECB pour nouveaux enseignants, nouveaux suppléants et maîtres-stagiaires

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Elected delegates from throughout the province set policy and future directions for the BCTF at the Annual General Meeting. The 100th AGM is set for March 12–15, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver. 

Facilitators' Institute

The 2015 Facilitators' Institute was August 23–25 at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC.

Federation Leadership Institute (FLI)

The institute for local leaders of the BCTF is usually held in the fall and further details will be available then.

Summer Leadership Conference

The BCTF Summer Leadership Conference brings together provincial and local leaders to review and discuss Federation priorities and to train for specific roles in the union. The 2015 conference was August 26-28 at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

Public Education conferences

The BCTF sponsors public education conferences on important issues in education. Parents, trustees, and members of outside groups are invited to these annual events.

World Teachers' Day - October 5

Teachers around the province and in more than 100 countries celebrate World Teachers’ Day on October 5. World Teachers’ Day was proclaimed by UNESCO in 1994 to raise awareness and understanding of the challenges facing teachers every day. The Education International website features resource materials and suggestions for activities.
