In an effort to foster broader membership engagement, the following members are invited to apply:
- ten attendees who are members in their first five years of teaching
- twenty attendees who are members who identify as Aboriginal or Indigenous, Black, and people of colour.
Successful applicants must commit to being available to attend the 2026 BCTF Summer Leadership Conference in Vancouver, BC, at the University of British Columbia from the evening of August 25 until August 28, 2026.
The BCTF Summer Leadership Conference aims to develop local leadership while focusing on BCTF priorities. Opportunities provided during the conference may include a variety of sessions such as Professional Autonomy, Professional Boundaries, Teachers’ Private Lives, Supporting Members in Conflict, Creating an Effective Health and Safety Culture in Your Workplace, and BC Education Policy Update.
Please note that eligibility to apply is limited to first-time additional attendees meeting the above criteria. Those who have previously attended under this selection process are not eligible to reapply.
Selection will be completed by the BCTF Executive Committee.
