This multi-day lesson uses the documentary Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution to introduce Grade 11/12 Social Justice students to disability justice, ableism, systemic barriers, and activism led by disabled people. Students will analyze the historical and political context of the disability rights movement, reflect on stereotypes and their own assumptions, and engage with the 10 Principles of Disability Justice. Through guided discussions, collaborative activities, and personal reflection, the lesson encourages students to think critically about inclusion, accessibility, and equity—while fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.
