Teacher Magazine welcomes a variety of different submissions including articles, poetry, photos and photo essays, letters to the editor, book reviews and resource recommendations.

1. Pitch your idea

We encourage you to pitch your idea to the editor before you start working on your submission.

2. Ensure you meet these publication guidelines

To be considered for inclusion, your submission must meet these guidelines

  • Teacher magazine focuses on narrative storytelling. Articles should be written using an informal, narrative style.
  • Submissions that are not in accordance with the BCTF’s positions on equity and inclusion will not be published.

Please note, we reserve the right to edit any submissions and cannot guarantee publication.

3. Gather your documents

  • Articles should be sent as a Word document with minimal formatting. Please do not insert photos into Word documents; instead, include photos as separate email attachments.
  • If any students appear in your photos, make sure your school has their photo release form signed by a parent/guardian. If you need, we can send you the BCTF photo release form.

4. Email your submission
