Tri-national Coalition in Defense of Public Education
The Tri-national Coalition was formed when the North American Free Trade Agreement came into effect in 1994. The Coalition provides a space for developing common strategies among those concerned about the impact of trade agreements, and NAFTA in particular, on public education in the three NAFTA countries—Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
The coalition holds a Tri-national Conference in Defense of Public Education every second year. The 12th Tri-national Conference is being hosted by the BC Teachers' Federation on May 13–15, 2016.
