The BCTF New Teachers, New TTOCs, and Student Teachers annual Conference will be held on February 24-25, 2017, at the Radisson Hotel in Richmond, BC. To register please click here.

Ground transportation

The Radisson Hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Aberdeen Canada Line station. Go tohttp://www.translink.ca/en/Schedules-and-Maps.aspx  for fares and schedule information.

Parking and miscellaneous

Please make sure to check the parking map here.

Complimentary parking for attendees is available in the following locations:

  • In front of the hotel
  • Level, 2, 3, and 5 (there is no level 4) in the President Plaza Parkade. Please DO NOT park in the red zone on level 5.
  • In particular, please DO NOT park at any time at T&T Supermarket or Yahoan Shopping Centre. Vehicles will be towed at owner’s expenses and will not be reimbursed by the BCTF.

Workshop location

We have made few last minute changes to workshop locations. Please make sure to check the floor plan mapwith the list of workshops. It will be displayed throughout the Conference.

Due to low attendance we had to cancel few workshops:

  •          Exploring non-animal alternatives to dissection: iPads, models, and more!
  •          Rick Hansen School Program: Tools for Disability... 
  •          What's Behind Cyberbullying? Online Violence, Social Justice, and the Law
  •          SAFETY FIRST! Science Lab Safety

Emilie Prunier who was supposed to facilitate Les simulations globales: le jeu de rôle au service de l'apprentissage is not feeling well and won’t be able to attend.

If you had registered to one of these workshops, please pick another session directly on site when registering.

Workshop materials

We have created a special FTP server for workshop materials. You will receive the link to this FTP server AFTER the conference

Participant feedback forms

Please make sure to return your evaluation form after each workshop you attend, you will receive one lottery ticket.

One evaluation form=one lottery ticket!!!

Winning numbers will be posted at the registration desk. Don’t forget to check the board.


Breakfast is not included in the registration fee and will not be served. However, the hotel will provide a breakfast station on Friday morning in the Prefunction area

  •          Coffee/tea @$3.00 all-inclusive each
  •          Assorted Muffin @$2.00 all-inclusive each
